Guide to Santa Cruz BOLIVIA |

An Independent Travelers Guide |

Lomas is Spanish for dunes and Arena for sand—this make Las Lomas the ´Beach´of Santa Cruz. Las Lomas is like a small desert just out of the main part of the city. (its VERY close—and a great shame to miss) A fantastic active day trip for swimming, sandboarding and kiting or just sunbaking if you prefer. Jodanga full day tours leave with a BBQ all the sports equipment and an esky full of drinks which makes a very satifying trip indeed! |
What is Las Lomas? |
· Best time of year to go: March to July after the rainy season has left water for swimming · Impossible to go:during wet season, when raining or during periods of high winds · Must take: a 4WD—unless you want to walk 2km from the entrante just to get in! |
Time: 1/2—1 Day |
Full day and half day tours are organised from Jodanga hostel including activities like sandboarding, kiting and football, BBQ lunch included for full day tour. Generally its best to go in a 4wd - or you´ll have an extra 2km to walk from the park entrance. To get there yourself, organise or hire a 4WD (Jodanga can also organise you a driver) or a taxi will take you there for around 60Bs (there and back a bit more remember to negotiate the price beforehand!). May be posible to catch a taxi out to the park and hitch a ride from a friendly local. |
